Privacy policy

• Account: your email, name and password hash (or your Google account details if you sign in with Google), your username, display name and bio.
• What you make: prompts, reference images, generated clips and gifs, captions and edit settings, likes, collections and reports.
• Payments: your credit balance and a history of credit changes and purchases. Card details never touch us — Stripe handles payment.
• Technical: ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don’t run advertising trackers.

Only the services we need to run gifmaxx, each for its own job:

• AI generation (Replicate / Pruna): receives your prompt and reference image to render the clip, and a frame of the result to check it against our rules.
• AI moderation and suggestions (OpenRouter): receives prompts and captions to screen them, and — if you use the browser extension while signed in — the text of the post you’re replying to, to suggest gifs.
• Convex: our database and backend. Cloudflare: file storage and bot protection. Vercel: hosting.
• Stripe: payments. Resend: transactional email such as password resets.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising.

The gifmaxx extension for Chrome adds a gif button to x.com. It reads a post only when you click that post’s button, or the button in a reply box: the post’s text and its author’s handle. If you’re signed in, that text goes to gifmaxx and on to OpenRouter to suggest search terms, a prompt and a caption; we don’t keep it. The extension doesn’t read your timeline, messages or browsing history, and sends nothing while you’re not using it.

It acts as you through your gifmaxx sign-in in the same browser. In Chrome’s extension storage it keeps your quality and length choices, and the ids of gifs still being made so they can finish after a reload. A gif you attach reaches X only when you post the reply; X’s own privacy policy covers it from there.

Gifs you make public — with your username, prompt and captions — are visible to anyone, indexable by search engines, and may be remixed by other users. Private gifs are visible only to you. Your profile page is public.

Content stays until you delete it. Deleting a gif removes its files. Reference images are deleted with the gif they were used for. Server logs are kept briefly for security. To delete your whole account, email us and we’ll remove it within 30 days.

You can see and edit your profile in settings, and delete your gifs any time. To access, export, correct or delete anything else, or to object to how we use your data, email info@gifmaxx.com.

The service is for people 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you think we have, tell us and we’ll delete it.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so on the service.
